  • South Nodaway got things completely turned around in the second half, outscoring Osborn by 26 points to rally for a 53-35 win Friday night.
    The Longhorns shaved an eight-point halftime deficit to one by the end of the third quarter and pummeled Stewartsville 21-2 in the fourth.
    South Ndoaway had three in double-figures led by Silas Nielson with 18 points. Dakota Murphy finished with 12 points and Logan Murphy had 11.
    Osborn's Travis Peaslee led all scorers with 22 points.
    Northeast Nodaway 63 Stewartsville 49
    The Bluejays hit on all cylinders in the first half, opening up a 23-point lead that provided ample breathing room in a 63-49 win over Stewartsville Friday.
    NEN scored 39 of its 63 points in the opening two quarters and held Stewartsville to eight in each one.
    NEN's Aaron Patton registered a game-high 19 points and Joel Scroggie delivered 17 points inside.
    Sophomore Garet Jackson scored nine points.
    Dominick Fleeks and Kolton Kessaman each had 12 points and hit three, three's to lead Stewartsville. Justin Burris added 10 points.
    St. Joseph Christian 56 Jefferson 41
    With Robbie Kaufman dominating inside, St. Joseph Christian got off to a fast start and buried Jefferson in the second half for a 56-41 win Friday in a rematch of last year's Class 1 Quarterfinals.
    Kaufman, a 6-7 post, finished with 27 points to lead all scorers. He had 19 of those in the first half.
    Christian finished the opening quarter ahead 18-7. Its lead grew to 15 points at the half and 18 by the end of the third quarter.
    Justin Mays added 10 points to the Lion attack. Brandon Shank, who made a half-court shot to beat Jefferson last year, finished with eight points.
    Jefferson got scoring contributions from eight players, but none were in double-figures. Blake Meyer led the way with nine points.
    Zach Jermain and Kyler Farnan each had eight points. Blake McCrary added five.
    Jermain nailed a pair of three's. Meyer and McCrary were among four others that hit one.
    Rock Port 62 West Nodaway 44
    Facing a 22-point deficit entering the fourth, West Nodaway couldn't duplicate its comeback efforts from the night before and lost 62-44 to Rock Port Friday.
    The Blue Jays stretched a three-point lead to 12 at the half and hung 25 third quarter points to make it 52-30.
    Rock Port's Eric Duncan posted a game-high 24 points and knocked down two, three-pointers. Chander Farmer tacked on 15 points. Three others had between five and seven points.
    West Nodaway received a team-high 18 points from freshman Jaden Gillenwater. He buried four of the team's six three's. Trevor Meyer scored 10 points. Blake Farnan scored eight.
    Ryan Evans had six on a pair of three's.
    North Harrison 54 North Nodaway 33
    The Shamrocks controlled the action over the first three quarters and routed North Nodaway 54-33 win Thursday night in Eagleville.
    North Harrison finished the opening quarter ahead 17-5 and led 34-17 at the half. Its lead grew to 22 by the end of the third quarter.
    North Harrison's Garren Gibson led all scorers with 18 points.
    The Mustangs combined to hit seven three-pointers in the game, accounting for over half of their made field goals. Austin Reynolds, Koby Reynolds and Nick Gladman connected on two apiece. Austin and Koby each scored 10 points. Gladman had six.
