Parkdale celebrates 'Noon Year's Eve'

Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville celebrated the start of 2013 with a Noon Year's Eve luncheon on Monday.

Residents, many of whom had come fresh from the beauty parlor, were treated to a meal of chicken-fried steak and mashed potatoes along with slices of white, frosted New Year's cake.

In addition, residents were served their choice of red or white sparkling grape juice and given party whistles to blow following a countdown to 12 o'clock.

Activities Director Tiffany Wasserkrug said the luncheon has long been a tradition at Parkdale, which currently serves 43 residents at its campus, located at 814 W. South Ave.
