Ruth Agnes Auer passed away Thursday at Immanuel-Fontenelle Home, Omaha, Ne. Born in Conception Junction, Mo., to Alphonse L. Auer and Ethel Ruth (Archer) Auer. She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Maryville, Mo., graduated from St. Patrick's High School, Maryville, and attended Vasant Business College, Omaha.
During World War II, Ruth worked in Canada and later in Oak Ridge, Tn. She worked 26 years at Sidles Company, Omaha, and 7 years as secretary to Archbishop Daniel Sheehan, Archdiocese of Omaha. She was a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church before joining New Cassel Retirement Center; volunteered for the Legion of Mary and Emergency Pregnancy Services; enjoyed traveling and playing bridge with her friends; adored her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Arthur Auer (Dorothea). Survived by six nieces, Anita Farnan (Danny), Conception, Mo., Ruth Stiens (John) and Elaine Taylor (Bruce), Maryville, Marilyn Kreimer (Dan) Blue Springs, Mo, Rita Auer (Mike), Buena Vista, Co., Donna Bauer (Ted), Audubon, Ia.; fifteen grandnieces and nephews; twenty great-grandnieces and nephews; 1 great-great-grandniece; numerous relatives and friends.
Upon her request, her body has been donated to science. A memorial service will be held at New Cassel Retirement Center Chapel at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a Catholic School of your choice.
