• Former MHS runner Goodall makes it to NAIA National Meet

  • Maryville Spoofhound alumni Damon Goodall qualified for the 2012 NAIA National Cross Country Championships, along with the rest Columbia College men's cross country team in mid-November.
    Goodall wrapped up his high school career, finishing in the top 15 at the state meet and accepted a scholarship to run at Columbia College.
    Columbia College enjoyed a successful season in their first year of competition in cross country winning the American Midwest Conference. The Cougars are a seven-member team, which are all freshmen. The team competed in five competitions leading up to the championships which were held in Vancouver, Washington on Nov. 17.
    There were 31 full teams and over 300 runners in the championship meet. Columbia College finished 28th as a team.
    To qualify for the championships, the Cougars won the conference championship over Park University who they defeated by one point. Goodall went into the conference meet ranked 19th and finished 17th.
    The Cougars are now preparing for the upcoming indoor track season.
