Playing in their first playoff game since 1986, Maryville used a pair of four-run innings and some excellent relief work from senior Tyler Tripp to beat Richmond 8-4 in sectionals Tuesday.
It was Maryville's first playoff win since 1981.

The game was supposed to be played Monday night, but wet field conditions in Richmond caused it to be moved back a day. This means the winner will have to play again the following night against either Fatima or Holden at a site yet to be determined.
