Jefferson's boys moved back over the .500 plateau with a hard-fought 39-26 win over Mound City Tuesday night in Conception Junction.
The Eagles were keyed by their defense which held Mound City to 10 first half points and nine or less in all four quarters.
Jefferson outscored Mound City 11-4 in the second quarter to lead by six at the half. Their margin grew to 11 by the end of the the third quarter and again in the fourth.
Kyler Farnan and Tyler Merrigan tied for the team lead in scoring with 13 points, stepping up on a night where leading scorer Zach Jermain had just two. Alex Holtman chipped in six points.
Miles Jumps led Mound City with 12 points and hit a pair of three's.
Jefferson (4-3) visits Maryville tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Mound City outscored Jefferson by five points in each of the final two quarters to turn a one-point halftime deficit into a 43-34 win Tuesday night in Conception Junction.
After scoring only 12 first half points. Mound City (6-0) produced 31 in the second half and 18 in the final quarter.
Senior Alex Phillips came through with a game-high 20 points. Haylee Clifton tacked on nine points and hit a three.
Sophomore Danae Schieber led the Eagles with 10 points. Jill Henry scored eight. Shanna Welch and Sarah Kemper each had seven points. Kemper hit the team's only three-pointer.
Jefferson (4-3) matches up with Maryville tonight a 6 p.m. at MHS.
