Nodaway-Holt rally falls short against Rock Port

Nodaway-Holt fell behind by 13 points at the half and a second half comeback bid fell short in a 43-38 loss to Rock Port in the 275 Conference opener Friday night.

The Trojans surpassed their first half output with 16 fourth quarter points to get it to single-digits, but the Blue Jays made enough of their 22 free throw attempts to hold on.

Rock Port jumped on top 12-3 after the first quarter and increased its lead to 25-12 at the half.

Jayden McMahon hit three, 3-pointers and led Rock Port with 12 points. Eric Duncan scored 11 and Chandler Farmer dished in 10.

Nick Patterson scored a team-high 13 points for the Trojans and connected on a pair of three-pointers.

Stephen Schniedemeyer added eight points, Derek Lemon had seven and Jackson Beattie dropped in six.

West Nodaway 55 Worth County 41

On the strength of Trevor Meyer's 25 point night, West Nodaway defeated Worth County 55-41 Friday in Burlington Junction.

West Nodaway's sophomore point guard split his points almost evenly over each half, scoring 12 in the first and 13 in the second. He hit two three's in the game, including one in the fourth quarter.

The Rockets (3-2) outscored Worth County 15-11 in the fourth quarter, putting away a game it led by seven at the half and six after three.

Blake Farnan added eight points to the Rocket attack. Ryan Evans and Zack Harris each had six.

Worth County picked up 22 points from Bryce Ross. He was 8-11 at the foul line.

Albany 47 Jefferson 40

An even game through three quarters, Albany gained control in the fourth to spring a 47-40 upset of Jefferson Friday night.

Albany put up 15 fourth quarter points while limiting the Eagles (3-3) to just eight.

Tyler Lupfer scored 14 points to lead Albany. Four others chipped in five to eight points.

Blake Meyer had a team-high 14 points for Jefferson. Leading scorer Zach Jermain was held to 10 and hit two, 3-pointers. Tyler Farnan added nine points before fouling out.

King City 61 South Nodaway 36

Down three after the opening quarter, King City dominated over the final three to win going away over South Nodaway 61-36 Friday in Barnard.

The Wildkats began their surge in the second quarter, outscoring South Nodaway 14-6 to take a five-point lead to the half. It grew to 14 by the end of the third quarter.

The Wildkats' Ilya Stagner scored a game-high total of 17 points. Drew Potter finished with 10. Three others had either nine or eight points.

South Nodaway was led by Dakota Murphy with nine points. Dalton Murphy and Silas Nielson each had six.

Tarkio 55 North Nodaway 27

Up nine points at the half, Tarkio assumed total control in the third quarter to earn a 55-27 win Friday in Hopkins.

The Indians outscored North Nodaway in the first and third quarters by a combined 44-10.

Tarko had three in double-figures led by Lawson with 20 points.

Austin Reynolds topped North Nodaway with 11 points. Trent Coleman tossed in nine.

Reynolds and Zach Gladman each hit a three.
