• Lady Hounds lose again to Irish

  • Facing just a one-point deficit at the half, the Lady Hounds trailed off at both ends in the fourth quarter and lost to Lafayette 46-26 Tuesday night in St. Joseph.
    Lafayette (4-0) won the second half by 19 points and outscored Maryville 15-2 in the fourth quarter to break open a seven-point game.
    The Lady Hounds (0-4) scored just 10 second half points and finished with under 30 for the third time in four games.
    This was Maryville's second loss to Lafayette (4-0) in that span.
    Blair Twaddle scored nine points, all in the first half, to lead Maryville and hit two, 3-pointers. Chelsea Byland also hit a pair of three's to finish with six points. Ann Coleman added four points.
    Lafayette's Oceonna Weston accounted for half for half of her team's total with 23 points. Ariel Dydell and
    Ashley Hinkle each scored eight points and hit a pair of 3-pointers.
