  • Joseph Arthur Seipel, 94 of Osceola, Nebraska, formerly of Barnard, Missouri passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 in Osceola.
    Mr. Seipel was born March 20, 1918 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Herman C. and Anna Marie (Brandt) Seipel.  He married Edna Mae Gray on October 24, 1941 in Maryville.
    Joe served in the US Army during WW II and was discharged in 1946. He returned to Nodaway County and farmed near Barnard.
    He was a member of St Columba Parish and the Tri-C American Legion Post #464, Conception Junction, Missouri, and the Graham Missouri Lions Club.
    Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (July 10, 1991); his parents; sister: Marie Skousen and brothers: John and Herman.
    Survivors include his son: Joe (Sharlene) Seipel, Columbus, Nebraska, grandchildren: Steven (Theresa) Seipel, Columbus, Nebraska ; Rhonda (Mike) Cronican, Memphis, Nebraska; Kimberly (Chris) Kaspar, Norfolk, Nebraska and Jason (Rayma) Seipel, Lincoln, Nebraska; nine great-grandchildren; one great great grandson; a sister: Helen Owens, Maryville and brothers: Paul, Maryville and Richard Seipel, Rea, Missouri.
    Visitation will be 6-7pm, Friday, November 30th, with a 7pm Rosary, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
    Mass of Christian Burial is 9:30 AM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.
    The Tri-C American Legion Post 464 will conduct Military services at graveside, assisted by the Missouri Funeral Honors Team.
