• Four county standouts picked to 8-Man All-State Team

  • Four players from three different Nodaway County Schools were selected to the 8-Man Football Coaches Association All-State Team this year.
    Nodaway-Holt junior quarterback Nick Patterson, Worth County/NEN senior wide receiver/defensive back Aaron Patton and North Nodaway senior punter Trent Coleman each made the first team. Nodaway-Holt senior receiver Derek Lemon was a second team selection.
    Patterson was among the top 8-man quarterbacks with 1,728 yards passing and 25 touchdown passes. He also ran for 354 yards and six touchdowns.
    Lemon was the team's leading receiver with 516 yards and 10 touchdowns.
    Patton, a student at Northeast Nodaway, grabbed first team honors at receiver and defensive back.
    He made a team-high 33 receptions for 514 yards and 10 touchdowns through the team's 10 first games. Patton also collected 44 tackles with two interceptions.
    Coleman had 28 punts that totaled 968 yards. He pinned Mustang opponents inside the 15-yard line five times.
