Albert William (Bill) Martin

Albert William (Bill) Martin, 90 of Maryville, Missouri died on Monday, November 26, 2012, at Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville, Missouri.

Bill was born November 16, 1922, he was the son of the late Albert Russell and Ida Elizabeth (Miller) Martin.  He married Joyce Agler on June 14, 1945, in Troy, Kansas.

Bill farmed in the Maryville area for many years. Bill also served his country as a member of the US Army Air Corp as a Staff Sergeant and tail gunner in the 390th Bomber Group. Bill enlisted in September of 1942 and was a POW from October of 1943 until April of 1945 after being shot down during a mission. Bill was honorably discharged in September of 1945.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, parents, a brother Harold Martin, two sisters Miriam DiMarco, Stella Martin and an infant son John Shepperd Martin.

Surviving are sons, Bob (Corrine) Martin and Tom (Twyla) Martin, both of Maryville;  daughters, Carole (Rod) Couts, Maryville, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Keith) Messamaker, Harrisonville, Missouri; and one sister, Carrie Margaret Lyle, Ravenwood, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, where funeral services will be held, Thursday, November 29, at 2:00 PM.  Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville, MO.

Memorial:  SSM Hospice at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville.
