James (Jim) Abraham Faris

James Abraham Faris, 78, Gretna, Nebraska died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Alegent Creighton Health Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska.

James was born on April 6, 1934 to Elmer and Elsie Faris in Maryville, MO. He grew up on a farm near Graham, MO.

He married Karen Hanna at the Maryville Methodist Church, December 23, 1956.

He attended Northwest Missouri University and Louisiana State University. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and then joined the Army Reserves.

Proceeding in death were his parents Elmer and Elsie Faris; Brothers Arthur Faris, Harold Faris, Leonard Faris, Adam Faris, Bryce Faris; Sisters Roberta Neff, Esther Granaman.

Survived by his wife Karen Faris; daughter Teresa Faris, sons Kristen (Jody) Faris, and Thomas Faris; Grandchildren Steven (Jamie) Faris, Michaela (Tony) Bernini, Ian Anderson, Karissa (Jim) Thompson, and Lauren Faris; Great-grandchildren Peighton Thompson, Ryder Liebentritt, Aryanna Petty, and Lucas Petty; His Brothers Edwin Faris and George Faris of Colorado, Sisters Marie Tatum, Neva Jones, and Sarah Dawson of Arizona; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jim enjoyed being a salesman on the road or in his store helping his customers with their paint, carpet or hardware needs. His lifelong hobby was playing and teaching golf. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends and always had a story to share.

Graveside Services will be held at Memorial Gardens, Maryville, MO at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 30th.
