Local businesses salute fishing champ

Bass Elite Series 2012 Angler of the Year Brent Chapman — who is sponsored by Maryville-based Tightline Ultimate Vision Lure Co. — celebrated his win recently during a banquet at the Lake Quivira Country Club in Kansas City.Another Maryville business, Bubba's BBQ & Fix'Ns, catered the event, serving almost 350 pounds of meat to a large crowd that included angling teams from Northwest Missouri State University, the University of Central Missouri and Kansas State University.Chapman meets with all three teams throughout the year. The fishing squads are sponsored by Tightlines owner Brett Ware."It was great to see the student athletes in the crowd," Ware said. "Not only did they visit with Brent about technique and what it takes to be a champion, they were able to discuss tackle and equipment with top-notch industry leaders."
