Robert Auffert

Funeral services for Robert Auffert, 82 of Clarinda, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct 8, 2012 at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Hospice.

A. Robert Auffert was born May 26, 1930 at Parnell, MO. He graduated Parnell High School and received a bachelor's degree in education from Peru Teachers College, Peru, NE. He taught at Clarinda High School being the instructor in Industrial Arts and Driver's Education. Many years he filled his spare time helping local farmers and driving cars for Shore Motor Company.

He was married July 10, 1954 at Parnell to Patty Chapman. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children: Michele Peterson (Jim), Lake Zurich, IL, Luke Auffert (Linda) Clarinda, IA, Jay Auffert (Abby) Griswold, IA, Susan Thummel (Keane) Clarinda, IA, John Auffert (Sarah) Texas, and George Auffert (Mary) St. Paul, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
