Loyd (L. D.) Pike

Loyd (L. D.) Pike, 73, Skagway, Alaska, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012, after a long illness. He has gone to be with the Lord.

He was born June 25, 1939 in Maryville, Mo., to Fred Maxine Pike.

L. D. married Mary Owens on Jan. 17, 1986 in Grant City, Mo. She survives at home.

L. D. was a carpenter, a veteran of the Navy, a contractor in Skagway. He was a Christian, and a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his children, Robert Eugene, Marvin Loyd, and Valerie Sue, also his dad Fred Loyd Pike, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Owens, Skagway, Alaska. A son, Loyd Donald Pike, Jr., Anchorage, Alaska. His mother, Maxine Pike, Maryville, Mo. three sisters, Janice (Gary) Maxwell, Maryville, Mo., Patty Pike, Maryville, Mo., and Pam (Larry) Sollars, St. Joseph, Mo., nieces and nephews, also great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside service will be Friday, October 5, 2012 in Skagway, Alaska.

Memorial service in Maryville, October 20, 2012, at Laura Street Baptist from 2:00 to 4:00.
