Pushed to a third game by Lafayette, the Lady Hound volleyball team did just enough in the late stages of the match to pull out a 25-13, 23-25, 25-23 win Tuesday in St. Joseph.
Maryville, which beat Lafayette in two at home less than two weeks prior, improved to 9-2-2 this season.
The Hounds received a balance offensive effort with six players contributed at least three kills to the overall total of 28.
Middle hitter Anny Van de Ven tallied a team-high seven skills and added four blocks. Aubrey Kimble sent six balls to the floor. Gabby Church and Sara Knowles totaled four kills each.
Alyssa Stiens and Chelsea Byland managed three apiece.
In the serving department, Knowles led the Hounds with three aces.
Stiens distributed 18 of Maryville's 20 assists and was third on the team with 14 digs. Libero Jessa Stiens led the defensive effort with 30 digs. Byland was second with 21.
Maryville is back home Thursday to play Savannah.
