Edna P. Close

Edna P. "E.P." Close, 94 passed away in Glenwood, Iowa on September 7, 2012.

She was born on September 21, 1917 in Nishnabotna, Missouri. Edna graduated from Daleview High School in 1935.

On April 9, 1939 she married high school classmate Athony L. "Phil" Close. They became parents of two children, and were lifetime residents and farmed in the area.

She was preceded in death by her husband Phil, on April 16, 2012; their son, Philip Ray Close; her parents, Nicholas J. and Edna (Christian) Ray; infant sister; two brothers, Harold and Raymond Ray.

E.P. is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Larry Kruse, Glenwood, Iowa; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Dean and Natalie Ray, Sun City, Arizona; four grandsons; seven great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

E.P. was a member of the St. Oswald's In the Field Episcopal Church.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13th, 2012 at Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Interment was held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City.
