This is a unique year for the West Nodaway High School class of 1965.
A majority of the class members have either turned 65 years old or will do so this year.
Several class members meet regularly for lunch, and the "'65 Gals" have started planning a weekend's worth of events for an upcoming reunion.
On Friday, Sept. 21, there will be a class gathering at the Kiss My Grits Cafe in Burlington Junction followed by the West Nodaway High School football game.
Activities scheduled for the following day include a catered lunch at the Little Red School House in Clearmont and an evening cookout at the Judy Strauch Lehye residence in Maryville.
Entertainment will be provided by Pepper, a '65 alum. Donations are suggested to help pay for the cost of the meal.
Additional class activities are to include volleyball, lawn golf, a washer toss and hot-tubbing. Those attending should bring swimsuits and lawn chairs as well as old photographs and other mementoes.
On Sunday, the class will attend morning services at the Christian Church in Burlington Junction, 211 E. Third.
