  • Dr. Bruce Twaddle, DDS, of Maryville has been awarded diplomate credentials by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Diplomate status is the highest honor ICOI bestows on dentists who practice oral implantology. Status is gained through participation in continuing education, research and clinical experience.
Less than 4 percent of all ICOI members gain diplomate status. According to an ICOI release, Twaddle submitted 100 case studies to the organization's credentialing board and was required to present and defend his rationale for treatment in each study. He also successfully completed written and oral examinations.
Twaddle has been a member of ICOI for 20 years and began performing dental implants in 1990. Since that time he has placed more than 900 dental implants and lectured on the subject both regionally and abroad.
In 2011, Twaddle established the Greater Kansas City Implant Study Club for recent dental graduates.
A Maryville native, he has maintained a local practice since 1983 and is currently in partnership with Dr. Brian Vierthaler at Compass Dental Group.
