July 12 - Midland by AMC - Kansas City
Storming into the Midland by AMC in Kansas City, MO, Halestorm is back to promote their most recent release “The Strange Case of...” with a headline tour.
Some of you may have not heard of this powerful band before, if you haven’t maybe you should see what the buzz is all about.
Headed by explosive singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale, Halestorm is an heavy metal group originally from Pennsylvania. Also in the band are Lzzy’s brother Arejay on drums, Joe Hottinger on Lead Guitar, and Josh Smith on Bass.
Joe opens up about the band and what fans can expect today at Midland when then attend this raucous show.
What is the history of the band?
Joe - Lzzy and Arejay started the band when they were kids, like when they were 10 & 13 years old. They called it Halestorm on the first show. Josh and I joined about 9 years ago and we have been playing shows ever since. The band has been around a long time and we will continue to do what we do, which is put on a great show and play good music.
How has the tour been going so far?
J- The tour has been incredible so far. This is our first headline tour to promote this album. It is a lot more intense being the headliner. It is awesome.
What about the tour do you like the most?
J - Just playing a show in front of people. There is just no feeling like it. If you could bottle this and sell it, it would be a popular commodity. It is just one great high on stage, it is awesome.
As a band, do you guys prefer small intimate venues or huge festival venues?
J - I really don’t like one more than the other. They are both different. Big festivals you have like 50,000 people like at the Rockfest in KC. It is so intense. It is what you always thought about when you are a kid. Smaller venues, though different, are just as awesome. It is nearly the same amount of energy as a bigger venue and the fans just let it rip because it is so packed and so intimate. I get as much out of the crowd as I do a big event.
What should Halestorm fans expect at the Kansas City show at the Midland?
J- We sold like 3000 tickets in five days and it has been amazing. It is the most we have ever sold for a headline show. Kansas City has become, kind of, our new home. We get to do a full headline set this time and we get to go all out. Josh will get to do a full drum solo and not get held back by time constrants. It will be a great show and we will leave it all out on the stage for such great fans.
Halestorm will be at the Midland in Kansas City on July 12th. Get out and support Joe and the rest of the band and show them why they truly should see Kansas City and the surrounding areas as their new home.
