Water line fix rescheduled

Planned repair of a city water main at East First and Davis streets has been postponed from Monday to Tuesday, July 10. Water will be shut off in the immediate area, and First Street will be closed for most of the day at the Davis intersection.

The following advisory has been issued by Public Works Director C.E. Goodall:

"Due to a water valve replacement project at First and Davis Streets, city crews will be shutting off water service to several residents in that area. If you are one of the residents who will be affected by the repair you will receive a door hanger. 

"The repair is scheduled to take place beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 10. The repair should be finished by mid to late afternoon. Residents are encouraged to fill water containers to ensure they have the needed water during this time. 

"Lines will be flushed thoroughly when the repair is finished. If any part of the projects changes, or if more work will be required, residents will receive a second door hanger with additional information."
