The future of Freedom

Red, white and blue were the colors of choice for cookies, balloons, clothes, wagons and strollers this week as children enrolled in Shelly McGinness' Shelly's Kid Zone daycare center participated in an informal Independence Day parade down East Second Street.

The youngsters called on neighborhood residents and passed out homemade cookies and flag-colored bead necklaces.
