  • In my geek-life there have been several things that I?have eagerly waited for.

The first is the sequel to one of my favorite movies of all time, The Goonies. I mean, c’mon, isn’t it about time to stop talking about it and just do it. The cast isn’t getting any younger.

Another film that I?would love see happen would be another sequel to a popular movie from my childhood, Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.

Imagine...Ferris is older and in need of a break at work. Road trip with Cameron!

Oh that would be awesome, don’t you think?

Then of course there are all the upcoming releases of shiny new electronic devices that always get me excited.

This year, though, something special is going to take place on May 15, 2012.

What am I talking about??Well the third installment of the Diablo series will finally be released.

    Oh man!?I am SO?excited.

Though I wasn’t a fan of the series when it first came out in 1996, I?quickly developed a love of the game after a friend loaned me a copy to try out. From that moment I was hooked.

That first game, set in the town of Tristram, had three selectable character classes and each class had strengths and weaknesses.

I was always the warrior class. I mean, I liked to just hack and slash. Sorcerer and rogue classes weren’t my specialty.

The gameplay was exciting and the graphics were incredible for the day.

Then the Diablo:?Hellfire expansion came out, then Diable II and, then, finally Diablo II:?Lord of Destruction.

And now, after all these years of waiting, Blizzard is about to release the long anticipated Diable III.

    Oh man!

This installment will be set 20 years in the future from the end events of Diablo II.

Though the gameplay will be superb, at least that is what I have read from people lucky enough to be a part of the Beta Testing, what I am looking forward to the most is going to be the multi-player mode.

Yes, you could do this in the other installments, I just have never had enough fellow geeks that wanted to join me on my endeavor.

Now,?I have a whole group of friends who are ready and waiting for the drop date.

We have even picked our own character classes.

Also, another addition to the Diablo world that I am excited for is the ability to sell virtual items for real-world money in the Auction house.

This will be a welcome addition to this virutal world since so many people have been conned out of money in the past because of shady characters taking advantage of the system.

Now it will be controlled in game by Blizzard and the ability to con someone will be eliminated. Or so I would like to believe.

All in all, I can’t wait to enter back into the virtual world of the Diablo series. I am beside myself with anticipation.

Those looking to get me an early Christmas present...hint, hint, nudge, nudge.
